effective ‘Self-Management’

 

6 Key Principles effectively managing overwhelm

 

1)     Pinpoint the primary source of work or task that you’re undertaking that has triggered the overwhelm. If you can label and describe the feelings attached to the overwhelm, seeking some healthy perspective with your pause.

 

 

2)     Set some boundaries around your work structure, work load and recognizing the capacity being undertaken. Once again seek some perspective and take a step back and look at your environment.

 

 

3)     Understand your values around perfectionism, control and how hard you are on yourself.

 

 

4)     Take a good step back understand delegation and your set-up in your work environment.

 

 

5)     Challenge the feeling and confusion occurring in your conscious mind, be ok and pause seek clarity, some breathing techniques if required and recognize the growth with the overwhelm.

 

 

6)     Reflect on the growth, allow some breathing into your thinking and space, seek the wisdom from what you need to put in place to avoid the overwhelm. Rate the overwhelm out of 1/10, you may recognize that the occurrence is not a huge issue, or you may rate this experience as a significant occurrence, so review the steps above and put some appropriate measure in your work environment and good habits to avoid the experience from rating high for the next time.
